Inflammation or swelling of the tissue lining the sinuses is known as sinusitis. Sinuses are hollow areas in the bones of your forehead, cheeks, and area between your eyes. They produce mucus, which maintains the moisture level within your nose. This in turn helps provide defence against pollutants, allergies, and dust.
Your doctor will determine if you have a sinus infection by asking about symptoms and examining you.
They may then go ahead and advise certain investigations. Depending on how severe the disease is, your doctor may give you medication or advise surgery.
