Ossiculoplasty

Three hearing bones, which move in reaction to sound, are located behind your eardrum. Some patients have damage to their hearing bones as a result of infection, trauma, retraction of the eardrum, or the cholesteatoma ear condition. On rare occasions, we also need to fix your ear drum .

Hearing loss occurs when the bones are destroyed because less sound can enter the inner ear. An ossiculoplasty involves replacing one or more of the bones in an effort to enhance hearing.
